Honours in Romance Studies

Admission

Admission to the Honours Program in Romance Studies is not automatic. Interested students with a first- or high second-class cumulative average should apply to the Romance Studies advisor in the Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies, normally before the end of their second year.

First and Second Years

Third and Fourth Years

A minimum of 48 credits at the 300- and 400-levels, including the following coursework.

33 additional credits, in at least two languages, of which at least 15 must be 400-level, from among courses labelled:

  • FREN
  • ITAL
  • PORT
  • RMST
  • SPAN

    3 additional credits (for the Honours essay) from one of the following courses:

  • FREN 499
  • ITAL 499
  • SPAN 499
