The Department of Theatre and Film (theatrefilm.ubc.ca/) offers undergraduate programs of study that lead to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts in Theatre (major and honours), Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design and Production, and certificates in Theatre Design and Technology.

Major in Theatre

Theatre majors must complete at least 42 credits in theatre and drama.

First and Second Years

At least 12 credits in theatre and drama, including THTR 210 and THTR 211.

Third and Fourth Years

At least 30 credits in theatre, numbered 300 and above. At least 18 credits must be selected from the following: THTR 310, THTR 311, THTR 320, THTR 323, THTR 325, THTR 340, THTR 410, THTR 420, THTR 425, THTR 440, THTR 443, THTR 445.

Honours in Theatre

Students are admitted to the Honours program only by application. Honours applicants must have a minimum of 76% in THTR 210 and 211.

Honours students must complete a total of at least 60 credits in theatre and drama including the mandatory THTR 445 and THTR 449. At least 48 credits must be numbered 300 and above. At least 15 credits must be selected from the following: THTR 310, THTR 311, THTR 320, THTR 323, THTR 325, THTR 340, THTR 410, THTR 420, THTR 425, THTR 440, THTR 443, THTR 445.

Students must take at least 30 credits in theatre and drama, including:
