GIS&GC is a program administered through the Department of Geography.

Students interested in Environment and Sustainability (geog.ubc.ca/undergraduate/programs/environment-sustainability/) or Human Geography (geog.ubc.ca/undergraduate/programs/human-geography/) should refer to Geography.

Minor in Geographic Information Science and Geographical Computation (GIS&GC)

The minor consists of 30 credits, of which 18 credits must be at the 300-level or above.

18 GEOG or GEOB/GEOS1 credits, consisting of:

*With permission of departmental advisor, students may substitute GEOG 374 with similar courses listed under the Science Credit Exclusion List. Non GEOG or GEOB/GEOS courses do not count towards the minimum 18 upper level GEOG or GEOB/GEOS credit requirement. An additional 3 GEOG or GEOB/GEOS credits would be required under these circumstances.

1As of 2021S, the course code GEOS replaced the course code GEOB. There were no changes to course content.
