Counselling

University life is challenging. Counselling services (personal, group, alcohol and drug, and workshops) are available to help students maximize their enjoyment of university life and learning.

Our counsellors can help students with:

  • stress
  • anxiety and depression
  • relationship issues
  • eating or sleeping difficulties
  • suicide or self-harm concerns
  • difficulties with thinking, attention, and concentration
  • violence or safety concerns
  • substance misuse
  • internet overuse, gaming, and other addictions
  • sex or sexual identity issues
  • managing complex mental health issues
  • balancing school, work, friends, and family
  • skill building for academic and personal success
  • taking positive action to resolve concerns

Counselling visits are free and confidential. Counsellors work closely with other members of the Campus Health team to provide support to students. Translated health materials are available. Counselling practicum and research experiences for graduate students may be available.
