Language and Writing Services
Language and Writing Services (LWS) provides academic, language, and writing services for all UBC Okanagan campus undergraduate students.
LWS oversees the Language and Writing Centre which is located Fipke 251 (FIP 251). It offers one-on-one tutoring and academic assistance five days per week on an appointment basis. Drop-in assistance is also available; however, students are recommended to make an appointment. Students can receive assistance with writing essays, grammar, research papers, punctuation, writing style, writing structure, writing in-class essays, presentations, and other academic preparation assistance. LWS also oversees Writing 009. This course helps participants develop university-level communication and composition skills. Upon successful completion of Writing 009, students may register in first-year English.
