    Multidisciplinary perspectives on contemporary media objects and their effects.

  2. MDIA 150 (3) Media Communities

    Media engagement with community partners through data, narrative and visual processes.

    Prerequisite: Restricted to BMS students with 1st year standing.

  3. MDIA 270 (3-6) Special Topics

    Selected topics in media studies. Not offered every year.

  4. MDIA 290 (3) Collaborative Methods

    Development and practice of media group production processes. Restricted to BMS students with 2nd year standing or above.

  5. MDIA 299 (3-6) Directed Studies

    Investigation of readings and research undertaking topics of media studies, with the agreement, and under the supervision, of a faculty member with relevant expertise. Restricted to BMS students with approval from the Program Chair.

  6. MDIA 300 (3) Approaches to Writing for Media Studies

    Interdisciplinary perspectives of thematic topics in contemporary media and related theory with focused attention on writing practices. Restricted to BMS students with 3rd year standing.

  7. MDIA 350 (3) Media Environments

    Collaborative planning and activation of media interfaces for stakeholders informed by multidisciplinary approaches.

    Prerequisite: MDIA 290. Restricted to BMS students with 3rd year standing or higher.

  8. MDIA 450 (6) Capstone Media Projects

    Advanced media works created in collaboration with community partners for public impact.

    Prerequisite: MDIA 350. Restricted to BMS students with 4th year standing.

  9. MDIA 470 (3-6) Special Topics

    Selected topics in media studies. Not offered every year.

    Prerequisite: Restricted to students with 3rd year standing or higher.

  10. MDIA 490 (3) Emerging Media Practitioners

    The roles and responsibilities of media producers as agents of transformation, with a focus on the student's own media decisions and artefacts.

    Prerequisite: MDIA 350. Restricted to BMS students with 4th year standing.

  11. MDIA 499 (3-6) Directed Studies

    Advanced research undertaking topics of media studies, with the agreement and under the supervision, of a faculty member with relevant expertise.

    Prerequisite: Restricted to BMS students with approval from the Program Chair.
