Italian and Italian Studies

The Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies offers undergraduate programs of study in Italian that lead to the Bachelor of Arts.

Major in Italian

Currently the Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies does not offer a Major in Italian.

Minor in Italian

To graduate with a Minor in Italian, students must complete:

First and Second Years

  1. ITAL 202 or ITAL 203
  2. along with any lower-level courses needed to prepare for them

Students with heritage knowledge of Italian may not need to take all, or even any, of ITAL 101, 102, 201; they should discuss their placement with the Italian advisor.

Third and Fourth Years

  1. ITAL 301 and ITAL 302
  2. 12 additional credits worth of 300-level or 400-level courses in ITAL or ITST
