Vancouver School of Theology (VST) is a multi-denominational graduate school known for its theological innovations while being rooted in Christian traditions. The School offers varied programs for all those interested in the study of theology or preparation for public and pastoral leadership. The School's goal is to be a centre for theological research and dialogue in partnership with First Nations through the Indigenous Studies Centre and with inter-religious partners through the Iona Pacific Inter-Religious Centre. It caters to both full and part-time students and offers the following degrees:

  • Master of Arts in Theological Studies (M.A.T.S.) degree. A two-year program in these concentrations: Bible, History and Theology, Public and Pastoral Leadership, and Integrative Studies.
  • Master of Arts in Public and Pastoral Leadership (M.A.P.P.L) degree. A two-year program which trains people to be the kind of leaders needed for the changing nature of Christian communities.
  • Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree. A three year program for those interested in public and pastoral leadership and/or ordination.
  • Master of Theology (Th.M.) degree. A post-graduate degree for those who hold a Master of Divinity or equivalent degree, offering thesis or general research options.
  • Master of Arts in Indigenous and Inter-Religious Studies (M.A. IIS) degree. A two-year program. Basic research in three major monotheistic faith traditions and North American indigenous traditions.

VST also offers programs, lectures, and workshops of general inquiry into theology, ministry, indigenous and inter-religious studies, and spirituality. Evening and weekend continuing education courses are also available to all.

As a member of the Native Ministries Consortium, VST offers a Master's of Divinity degree program by extension to prepare candidates identified and sponsored by Aboriginal communities and their churches for professional and lay ministry.
