Both the M.Ed. and M.A. degrees are 30-credit programs.
Course selection is made in consultation with a student’s supervisor. A course at the 400- or 500- level may stand as an elective or a thematic area course with approval from the student’s supervisor and the Director of Graduate Programs within the Faculty of Education.
The M.Ed. is typically completed as a part-time program. Students are encouraged to complete the coursework over two academic years, including summer sessions. Continuing fees will be assessed after three years. M.Ed. students are required to complete the degree within four years.
Capstone project option offers opportunities for students with an interest in exploring a particular topic in greater depth. Students will develop a substantial academic paper on their particular inquiry area of interest.

The Graduate Certificate is a 15-credit program that can be completed on a part-time basis. To be recommended for the Graduate Certificate, students must complete 15 credits from one or more thematic areas (see Course Offerings).
