Applicants from a CEGEP

Admission

Applicants from a collège d'enseignement général et professionel (CEGEP) must have at least one full year of study in a pre-university diploma program. This year must consist of twelve appropriate courses for admission, including two courses in either ENGL (603) or FREN (601) plus any pre-requisite courses required for the selected degree program.

Admission is based on all academic courses completed in the pre-university diploma program. An admission average of at least 60% is required. Many programs have more qualified applicants than spaces and a higher admission average will be required.

The côte de rendement au collégial (R-Score) may be used as a supplement for admission. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their R-Score.

Transfer Credit

Transfer credit for up to one full year of study may be applied towards a UBC degree for students who have completed a Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) program. Admitted applicants who have not completed a DEC will be considered for transfer credit on a case by case basis.
